‘Candidate driven market’ detailed at The Dover Club
Morgan Benjamin Search Group CEO presented data insight on current job market
HOUSTON, Texas – Founder & CEO of Morgan Benjamin Search Group (MBSG), Ben Bonnell, shared data insight and forecasting at The Dover Club earlier this month, predicting the strong “candidate driven market” will remain a reality for the foreseeable future. With just under 6 million unemployed workers in the US currently, employers are reporting over 9.5 million open jobs in the market. As with any supply and demand issue, this present gap between workers and openings has been one factor in increased wages. In July alone, average hourly earnings were up .4%, with the increase at 4.4% year-over-year.
This data, along with other job market insights, was presented to a group of local entrepreneurs and business owners representing a wide variety of fields at The Dover Club. The group meets weekly on Fridays at The Houstonian for presentations and insights from fellow entrepreneurs in their respective vocations. The group invited Bonnell to share on the current state of the labor market and employment.
